Technology

Hoboken Catholic Academy provides a technology rich learning environment and its teachers utilize a variety of learning tools to enhance instruction.  Each classroom is equipped with a Smart Board.  Students in grades 5-8 are assigned iPads and teachers in grades 2-4 have class sets of iPads for use by their students. In addition class sets of MacBooks are available for student use. Teachers in grades PK3 to Grade 1 utilize iPads for learning centers and computer classes. Through a variety of programs, textbook publisher supports, and educational apps, teachers are able to enhance and expand the curriculum in all content areas.  Following the Newark Archdiocesan Technology Scope and Sequence, students develop the computer skills necessary to be technologically literate and successful in high school and beyond.

The school website, www.hobokencatholic.org, contains a wealth of information about the school and is updated regularly.  The school maintains an active Face Book page which features school related activities.  Parents have access to their child’s grades through the parent portal on the Power School Student Data System.

The school is under continual surveillance through 35 security cameras inside and outside the building.  The school’s security guards, retired Hoboken Police Officers, monitor all of the school’s entry doors, hallways, stairwells, outside play areas, the gym and all streets adjacent to the school when children are present. The Hoboken Police have remote access to the cameras at any time.
